Spinal Decompression

Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompressions can reduce and often eliminate chronic pain associated with pinched nerves, sciatica, neck pain, and a variety of symptoms related to damaged or degenerative discs. Conditions of the lumbar and cervical spine can also be treated with spinal decompression.

Spinal decompression is a non-surgical alternative to wide range of conditions. Decompression of the spine with unloading and proper positioning improves nutrient exchange and blood flow to injured areas providing a non-surgical and effective relief from pain and discomfort.

The treatment involves several cycles of stretch and relaxation, which increase in intensity over a period of 10-20 minutes. Therapy sessions typically last for 2 months with 1-2 treatments per week. Most patients begin to feel relief after 6-10 treatments. The average patient is released from treatment in 8 weeks or less.

Dr. Primeaux creates custom treatment plans that target the stabilization of muscles. Additional therapies such as heat, muscle stimulation, ultrasound and cold therapy are utilized as needed in each patient’s customized treatment program. The combination of treatments is designed to heal the damaged disc and improve muscle control that supports the back and neck.
