Spinal Manipulation

Spinal Manipulation

Adjustments, also known as spinal manipulation, refer to the realignment and mobilization of vertebrae in the spine. Daily activities and trauma from sports injuries or accidents cause vertebrae to move out of alignment, which can cause discomfort and pain. Adjustments realign the vertebrae reducing pain and discomfort.

Proper spinal alignment promotes the healthy flow of nerves and systems within the body. This has a systemic effect on the entire body including the muscular and central nervous system.

Dr. Primeaux uses gentle techniques that apply manual pressure, or pressure from an instrument, to move the vertebrae back into alignment. Despite commonly held belief, adjustments do not ‘crack’ bones. The cracking noise often heard during an adjustment is actually the release of gases such as nitrogen from the joint.

Adjustments are a gentle and effective method that enable the body to function in a healthy manner. Regular adjustments can relieve chronic pain and improve overall health.
